Cobblers Brook Bridge

A nearby resident tells us that the rusty pipe carrying the phone and fibre cables over Cobblers Brook has now been tied to the water main and another duct, presumably to get it out of the way of the water flow and any debris, and to reduce the chance of it causing a blockage and potential flooding. Hopefully this is a very temporary solution, since the polypropylene rope is unlikely to last long, and presumably there is now a greatly increased risk of damage to the water main and other service.

However it is perhaps a good sign that the 3 m of cables hauled out of the joint pits has been pulled back, hopefully without damage to the joints.

We hope that a proper support mechanism is being designed to remove the extra load from the other pipes and in case they have to be altered or replaced.
