BT’s success in signing up more local authorities for state funded projects continues to kill off small rural FTTP projects. More from the BBC
An entertaining article highlighting some of the problems caused by inadequate rural broadband.
A rural community FTTP project in Cumbria achieved its initial funding goal last week; see digitaldales.com. BDUK will provide about 50% of project cost, and the community raised £155,000. Without this project only 45% of the properties in this region of Cumbria would get access to superfast broadband, compared to about 95% under current plans in Surrey.
